Unwell Children Are Always Given Priority

In order for us to assist you to the best of our ability, it is important that if the appointment is for a sick child, please notify our staff immediately.

Our phone lines open at 8.00 am every day, so if you do need an urgent appointment, simply let our reception staff know when you call.

All children ten years and under are now billed at the rebate amount directly to Medicare. Don’t forget you can book online as well.

Billing

The doctors at the practice privately bill patients. Accounts are payable at the time of consultation. If the account is not paid at that time an account keeping fee of $10.00 applies.

Payments can be made by cash, cheque, Bankcard, Visa, MasterCard or EFTPOS. Further information regarding fees is available from reception.

All senior patients with age pensions will receive a discounted fee. Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) patients will be billed directly to DVA, using their white and gold specific conditions cards. DVA Orange cards are for pharmaceutical benefits only.

Instant Medicare rebates are available by swiping your Medicare card at reception following full payment of your consultation. Rebates are paid immediately into your allocated bank account.

Script Clinic

Due to COVID-19 we will no longer be having our regular in person script clinics. Repeat scripts will be via Telehealth with your usual doctor.

To arrange a script for an ongoing medication, please call reception and they will book you in with your usual GP for a telehealth appointment. These appointments will be billed directly to Medicare. Please note : new prescriptions will not be done through script clinic and will require an appointment (fees apply).

45 to 49-year-old health checks

If you are aged between 45 and 49 years old, you may be eligible for a comprehensive medical assessment, which attracts a higher Medicare rebate than a normal consultation. This is a one-off claim and includes a full medical checkup, with discussions about lifestyle factors such as alcohol, smoking, ECG heart reports, diet and exercise and general preventative medical care.

The out-of-pocket cost for this comprehensive assessment is similar to a normal visit. The appointment generally takes about an hour. If you require further investigations, such as a spirometry testing for pulmonary function, this will incur an extra fee. Please advise reception if you would like to arrange this assessment and they can check your eligibility.

Diabetes Clinics

Diabetes can affect your body and your health in different ways. Learning about diabetes and having regular health checks will help you manage your diabetes and prevent diabetes-related complications such as vision loss, heart disease or stroke. As a committed team of health professionals, we work with you and your family to achieve the best diabetes management possible. We work to enable you to self-manage your lifestyle with confidence and success.

WHAT WE OFFER?

  • High quality medical care, guidance and education on diabetes management .
  • A clinic visit every 3 months to ensure the best diabetes management.
  • Contact with other allied health professionals as required during your care journey.

All visits to our diabetes clinics are billed directly to Medicare.

Skin Cancer Screening

All of the doctors are experienced in full skin checks and minor surgical procedures. As Queensland has a high incidence of skin cancer, our doctors recommend having a full skin check once a year. If you have not had a full-body skin check in the past 12 months, please enquire when you next see your doctor.

If your doctor detects a suspicious lesion they may recommend you have it surgically removed. They can perform this procedure at the surgery. Usually you only need to wait a few days to get an appointment.

Full skin checks will require a longer appointment. Please book a double appointment with the doctor of your choice and advise reception that the appointment is for a skin check.

Excisions are billed when results are received from pathology. You will be required to pay for the full cost of the excision when you receive your account. Medicare determines the rebate payable to you based on the pathology results.

Out-of-pocket expenses to you are fixed per lesion. This fee covers the doctor’s time, expertise, materials used (anaesthetics), dressings, sutures and nursing staff, both on the day and when the sutures are removed.

Life Style Modification Weight Loss Clinic

Our approach to weight loss within the practice is supportive and directed towards the individual. We provide guidance and education on how to achieve safe effective weight loss and improvements in health for all ages. For more information please contact reception.
